We
invite you all to participate in the First SGNC Camp Sirhind 2006. The camp is an interactive family event,
with a focus on teaching Sikh principles to children ages 7 to 14. The theme of this year’s camp will be
“Ardaas: What’s In It for Me?”
The
camp will be residential, meaning camp participants are expected to stay
overnight (adult and senior counselor supervision will be provided at all
times). There will be workshops and
dialogues for both camp participants and adults, and the majority of the
classes will be taught by older youth and young
adults.

Camp

To discuss the meaning of Ardaas in historical and social
context

To apply the context of Ardaas to one’s own
life

To stimulate the youth to
learn additional aspects of Sikh life

To socialize with other youth
of similar background and goals

To stimulate adults to discuss
important issues relevant to Sikhi

To foster growth in the
community through family interaction
