SGNC Youth Gurmatt Class Goals
Each child is unique due to the innate nature of our Creator. Gurmatt Classes are divided into several learning levels as listed below with the completion goals listed for each level:
- Level 1 - Baba Fateh Singh Group
- basic knowledge of Gurmukhi alphabets
- able to sit and listen for 15-20 minutes
- Level 2 - Baba Jorawar Singh Group -
- complete knowledge of 41 Gurmukhi alphabet
- names of all Sikh Gurus
- Gurmukhi numbers upto 30
- age appropriate Gurmukhi vocabulary
- Level 3 - Baba Jujhar Singh Group
- ability to form simple words using all Maataraas
- names of all Sikh Gurus in order
- 1st five paurees of Jap Ji Saheb
- age appropriate Gurmukhi vocabulary
- Level 4 - Baba Ajit Singh Group
- ability to form simple sentences using all Maataraas
- names of all Sikh Gurus, Panj Payaray, Four Sahebzade
- several paurees of Jap Ji Saheb
- age appropriate Gurmukhi vocabulary
- ability to write simple gurbani words in Gurmukhi
- Level 5 - Mai Bhag Kaur Group
- ability to form complex words and sentences including GurBaanee words
- names of Gurus, Payaray, Sahebzade, Takhats, Banis, Kakaars, Kurehts, etc
- entire Jap Ji Saheb
- age appropriate vocabulary
- Level 10 - Baba Budha Ji Group
- ability to perform Sahaj Paath from Guru Granth Saheb Jee
